Prof. Nouria Lakhdar-Ghazal
Nouria Lakhdar-Ghazal is an expert in Neuroscience with a particular focus on Neurobiology of Circadian and Seasonal Rhythms speciality.
She completed her undergraduate education at Mohamed V University and her doctoral training at the Louis Pasteur University of Strasbourg in partnership with Mohamed V University. She is a Professor at Mohammed V University, Faculty of Sciences and Head of the Unit of Research on Biological Rhythms, Neuroscience and Environment.
Prof. Lakhdar-Ghazal is the Chairwomen of the IBRO-UM5 Africa Center for Advanced Training in Neuroscience (ACATN) and a member of steering committee of ACATN. She serves as Secretary General of The Society of Neuroscientists of Africa (SONA), as well as in the Africa Regional Committee of IBRO, RITA Levi-Montalcini committee for Funding Women Training in Africa, the International Society for Neurochemistry School Committee, the Arab States Committee of the UNESCO Forum for Higher Education, Research and Knowledge, and the IBRO Workshop and Symposia Standing Committee.
She has organized many African schools in Neuroscience, workshops and international conferences. Prof. Lakhdar-Ghazal has served as a reviewer for Neuroscoence Letter and Brain Diseases and Metabolism Journal and Frontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience Journal. She is an Editor of Frontiers in Neuroanatomy Topic on Neuroscience in Africa and an Associate Editor on multiple other Frontiers Journals.
